Used Nissan Terrano

For 13 years, Nissan produced and released the Terrano, famously known for its family-sized interior. This chunky 4x4 did not really enjoy the popularity that the Discovery and the Cherokee enjoyed. Still, it is a very reliable and competent 4x4 when it comes to family and leisure nevertheless. Offered in either the 5-door or the 7-door option, the Terrano is certainly the ideal family vehicle. The Terrano was powered by three engines. The 100 bhp 2.4L petrol engine ran from 1993 through 2001. This engine was not really much of a speedster but it did prove to be very relaxed when you take it at motorway speed. The 2.7L diesel, on the other hand, has always been an option since the Terrano was launched. In 1996, the engine was significantly revamped, gaining an intercooler and the extra power at 25 bhp. Still, the used Nissan Terrano remained quite slow and fairly noisy. From 2002, the 3.0Di engine was launched and was dubbed the strong performer of the range. It still lacked the refinement that today’s more modern engines are known for. In terms of handling, the Terrano is considered a tough off-roader. With long-travel suspension and its low ratio gearbox, the Terrano makes an excellent car for towing as well. But when you take the Terrano on the road, it just falls behind its contemporaries. Bodyroll is very noticeable when you deal with tight corners. You also get vague steering as well as notchy gearchanges. The Terrano is well-known for its soft ride capabilities so it is just better to take it for a ride around the town. Its interior, however, shows just how the Terrano can age. The seats are fairly comfortable, though they can provide more comfort as well. Shoulder room and legroom can be problematic for the rear passengers. There is also too much wind, road, and engine noise, to begin with. The TD LX is the basic model in the range, with an adjustable steering column and split rear seats. The SLX adds electric windows, electric mirrors, a sunroof, central locking, side steps, and an additional row of seats for its long wheel base version. The SGX adds black roof rails, air conditioning, and alloy wheels. Come 1995, all models were revamped significantly, with the addition of black roof pillars and black interior trim. All of the models were rehashed and given more modern features, so to speak. Safety-wise, all of the new models were given ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, side airbags, and front seat active head restraints. The latest models were also given deadlocks.
